#1 Cochran Team Members Celebrate the Holiday Season
Nearly 600 #1 Cochran team members gathered at the Monroeville Convention Center Thursday, December 22nd to celebrate our Annual Holiday Luncheon. Team members enjoyed a buffet lunch, door prizes and the much anticipated annual awards ceremony.
This year’s Safety Suggestion Award winners were Shelly Catanzano, Suzie Illich and Roy Heid. Each winner contributed an idea that highlighted and addressed a safety concern that could be easily implemented contributing to the overall welfare of both team members and customers.
A new honor added to this year’s program was the Building Greatness Award. This distinction was presented to those stores most positively upholding our values and driving our business. Our first annual Building Greatness Award winners are Hyundai of Monroeville, Kia, Subaru, Robinson Collision and Monroeville Collision. We wish these teams a very well earned “congratulations!
Finally, our 2011 Standards of Value Award winners are Robinson Service Technician, Mike Diethorn, and Monroeville Pre-Owned GSM, Bill Heffelfinger. Both Mike and Bill perform their jobs at exceptionally high levels and exemplify #1 Cochran’s core values. This is one of #1 Cochran’s most prestigious honors and we are extremely grateful to have them on our team.
#1 Cochran also took the opportunity to announce our upcoming sponsorship of Children’s Hospital’s Injury Prevention program. Our donation of a 2012 Kia Sedona will be used by Children’s Hospital staff to scout local neighborhoods making sure children are properly using bicycle helmets as well traveling to various community locations to promote safety programs. To emphasize the importance of the Injury Prevention Program, the Emmerling family joined us to speak about their personal injury story and Children’s Hospital’s role in saving their son’s life.
To further show our support for our partnership with Children’s Hospital, team members were given the opportunity to donate Children’s Hospital wish list items (toys, games, infant equipment, etc.) as well as the $25 Giant Eagle gift cards they annually receive from #1 Cochran during the holidays. The gift cards come in especially handy for out of town families who are staying in Pittsburgh while their child is under Children’s Hospital’s care. We are proud to say $1,500 in gift cards and mountains of wish list items were collected for Children’s Hospital on this day. Once again, team members exceeded our expectations with their generosity.
