Mollie’s Meals Teams up with #1 Cochran Subaru
December 27, 2011, Pittsburgh, PA – Mollie’s Meals has teamed up with #1 Cochran Subaru to take part in Meals on Wheels Association of America’s (MOWAA) “Most Meals” contest. The contest is part of Subaru’s “Share the Love” holiday event. MOWAA will award $150,000 in grants to programs throughout the country that participate in the event.
#1 Cochran team members will help Mollie’s Meals deliver meals to seniors and homebound adults Thursday, December 29th, throughout Swissvale, Oakland and Edgewood, using Subaru vehicles.
“We welcome the opportunity to partner with organizations that show an intense passion and commitment for their cause. This program presented us just that, as giving back to the community is definitely a shared goal among Subaru, Mollie’s Meals, MOWAA and #1 Cochran” said Rob Cochran, President and CEO.
Grants awarded by MOWAA will range between $500 and $5,000. Grant programs such as this are crucial in our current economic conditions, as the challenge to raise money to feed our community’s homebound seniors has become even greater. Should Mollie’s Meals receive a grant, they will use the funds to subsidize meals for those who cannot pay the full amount.
Subaru’s “Share the Love” programs runs through January 3rd, 2012. During this time, Subaru will donate $250 to one of five charities on behalf of anyone who purchases or leases a new Subaru.
“We are honored to be selected as one of the “Share the Love” charities for the fourth year in a row,” said MOWAA President and CEO, Enid Borden. “Subaru is a corporate partner that truly understands why ending senior hunger is not only a mission but also a moral imperative for all of us as Americans.”
