Subaru’s “Share the Love” Event Donates Big to Local Charities

Each location raised funds for Subaru of America’s eighth-annual “Share the Love” event. Here’s how it worked:

  • The event ran from November 19, 2015 to January 2, 2016
  • Subaru chooses four national charities—Make-A-Wish, ASPCA, Meals on Wheels America and the National park Foundation— and each Subaru dealer chooses a fifth local charity.
  • Customers who purchase or lease a new vehicle get the opportunity to donate $250 to the charity of their choice.

Subaru of Butler chose the Butler County Humane Society. By the end of the event, the dealership raised close to $10,000. They received their check at the Subaru Showroom in Butler.

“With the gracious donation from Cochran, we plan to ‘share the love’ by putting the money directly towards the veterinary care of the homeless dogs and cats of Butler County,” said Board President Marci Mustello. “Please know that every dollar donated to the Butler County Humane Society stays in Butler.” The non-profit animal rescue and adoption shelter currently houses over 90 cats and 30 dogs. You can find out more information about adopting one of these animals on their website.

Subaru of Monroeville chose the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. The team raised more than $30,000! That’s the highest of any Subaru retailer in the Pittsburgh market. It is also the fifth-highest in the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware sales zone!

“Children’s Hospital relies on the unwavering support of community partners like #1 Cochran,” said Brian Harman, the organization’s director of Corporate and Community Giving. “They have made the health of kids in our community a priority and for that we are most grateful.”

In addition to the monetary donation, Subaru of Monroeville delivered the dozens of gifts collected during a holiday toy drive for the hospital’s patients and staff.

This year, Subaru of America hopes to donate up to $15 million to participating charities.

Congratulations to both teams!
